Accounts Payable Clerk
Temp to Hire/Full Time
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm
$20+ DOE
We’re hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk for a local, well-established Suffolk company!
This role involves managing daily, weekly, and monthly AP tasks. Ideal candidates have an accounting/bookkeeping background, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and excellent attention to detail and organization.
Job Requirements
Required:
- Bookkeeping / accounting background
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook & Word)*
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel*
- Knowledge of purchase orders
- Professional vendor communications
Experience:
- Bookkeeping / Accounting - 1+ years (required)
- Microsoft Excel - 1+ years (required)
*Testing will be required per Client request
Additional Information
Here is what your job will look like:
Tasks:
Daily
- Match packing slips to Purchase orders and record receipt of material on PO. Enter received items into industry platform and post.
- Enter Vendor bills into industry platform and post.
- Make copies of Vendor bills as required for Office Manager. Respond to Positive Pay exceptions.
- Print vendor bills from email.
Weekly
- Process bill from Staffing Company and issue check on Wednesday.
- Issue and mail checks every Friday for discountables and for vendors paid weekly. Upload all checks to bank for Positive Pay.
- File all paid bills in Payable filing cabinet.
- Prepare Hauler's report.
Monthly
- Match bills to vendor statements.
- Issue and mail checks on the 10th for monthly discountables.
- Issue and mail checks on the 20th for prior months A/P non-discountable bills.
As Needed:
Handle billing discrepancies with Vendors. Complete credit applications for vendors. Obtain W-9 forms from new vendors. Update Purchase Orders.
