Marketing Communications Specialist - Temp to Hire
$21/hour, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm
Position Summary: Communicate with the public using various methods; recording and distributing accurate minutes from Board and Committee meetings.
General Purpose: Inform the public about all programs and initiatives; work with the Deputy and Executive Director serving on Board and Committee Meetings.
Position responsibilities:
- Must keep the Board members and public informed of all programs and activities
- Ensure website is kept up-to-date
- Engage in outreach and public information campaigns to solicit participation in all programs.
- Manage and administer all Social Media venues like Website, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
- Administer promotions and events as needed and/or appropriate.
- Issue press releases to promote a positive image
- Actively communicate with members by way of newsletters, emails, and ads.
- Oversee the ongoing development and improvement of website.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences as required.
- Other related duties as assigned
Essential skills and experience:
- Post-secondary school education at community college or university level and/or appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
- Computer skills in MS Office, desktop publishing, database, and website applications.
- Understanding of all Social Media platforms.
- Ability to multi-task and work well as part of a team.
- Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision with a high degree of accuracy and motivation.
