Human Resource Assistant
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Performs a wide variety of professional level human resources activities in functions such as employment, benefits, employee relations, and related areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
-Answers phones and greets visitors.
-Coordinates employee events to include, but not limited to, holiday luncheon, promotion ceremony, employee picnic etc.
-Responsible for archiving and storage of all HR files.
-Prepares interview folders.
-Schedules interviews, conducts interviews and reference checks.
-Orders office supplies for the department.
-Creates job announcements and coordinates the posting on company website, newspapers, schools, military bases and with other employment contacts.
-Schedules pre-employment exams and sends out annual and fit for duty physical exam letters.
-Distributes employee performance evaluation forms and monitors the employee performance evaluation schedule.
-Adheres to all personnel policies and departmental guidelines.
-Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES – Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Minimum of one (1) year of business school. Associates degree or higher education preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources.
- Minimum of 3 years’ administrative experience.
CERTIFICATIONS: Human Resources certification/s preferred.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Desktop computer, phone system, fax, copier, laptop and overhead projector.
